Chondrokoukis Gregory

Professor

Grigorios Chondrokoukis is a Professor in Information Systems Management at the Industrial Management and Technology Department of University of Piraeus. He studied Business Administration at the Graduate School of Industrial Studies of Piraeus (1985), received his MSc degree in Information Technology (Computer Science) from Birkbeck College London University (1986) and pursued his Doctoral Thesis in Design and Development of Group Decision Support Systems for small groups, at the Technology and Production Systems Department of University of Piraeus (obtained his PhD in 1992). He taught at the University of Hertfordshire, the Hellenic Naval Academy and the School of Further Education and Training of the Hellenic Police Force, and he is an External Examiner at the University of Wales in IT Departments. He has been organizer of seminars in agencies of the public and private sector (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), etc.) and was Head of the Computer Center of University of Piraeus Research Center. He has participated in many research projects as project leader or researcher. He is President or Member in Expert Committees of the Public Sector (Ministry of Justice, Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP), Navy Retirement Fund (NAT), Ministry of Merchant Marine, Hellenic Statistical Authority, Ministry of Labour, etc.). He was scientific director of the University of Piraeus Liaison Office and of the Second Chance Schools (SDE) of the Piraeus region, and Chairman of the Scientific Monitoring Board of the Ionidios Model High School (Experimental Lyceum) of Piraeus. He has organized several International and National Conferences. He was General Secretary of Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses, President and CEO of Textbook Publishing Organisation (OEDB), Member of the Executive Committee of the Hellenic Open University and Vice President of the Hellenic National Academic Recognition Information Center (Hellenic NARIC). He teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at University of Piraeus, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Piraeus University of Applied Sciences. He participates in many international scientific Organisations and Associations. His work focuses on Information Systems, e-Business, Data Security, Decision Support Systems, Expert Systems and others, and has been published in scientific journals and presented at international and national conferences.
